Summary[edit]
DescriptionLuftwaffe HF Baselines in Central Mediterranean.svg |
English: Luftwaffe organisation of High-Frequency in the central Mediterranean area from May 1943 to September 1944. As the German Army conquered Italy, Sicily and Tunisia, Luftwaffe Signal Intelligence established DF baselines, radar intercept and radar jamming sites and signal intercept out-stations among the different locations to detect Allied heavy-bomber movements. As the Allies pushed the Axis up the spine of Italy, the Luftwaffe progressively established new DF baselines as it withdrew. By late 1944 the Luftwaffe Signals were pushed into Germany. |
