Deutsch: Kuckucks-Lichtnelke. Lychnis flos-cuculi L., Tafel 33; Curtis et al. (1777)
Kelch: ein einblättriges, röhrenförmiges, fünfzipfeliges Perianthium mit zehn Winkeln oder Graten, von tiefvioletter Farbe. (Abb. 1); Blumenkrone: fünf Blütenblätter, die Kralle ist so lang wie der Kelch, Abb. 2. der Schenkel ist in vier Lakiniæ geteilt, der äußere ist kurz und am schmalsten, Abb. 4. am unteren Ende des Schenkels befinden sich zwei kleine aufrechte Lamellen, Abb. 3; Staubblätter : zehn Staubfäden, spitz zulaufend, fünf lange und fünf kurze, Abb. 5. die kürzeren Staubfäden sind an der Kralle jedes Blütenblattes befestigt, Abb. 6. die Antheren sind länglich, zweischalig, Abb. 7. quer über die Staubfäden gelegt und von violetter Farbe; Stempel: der Keim etwas eiförmig, Abb. 8. fünf; Griffel: spitz zulaufend und ein wenig nach innen gebogen, Abb. 10. Stigmata einfach, Abb. 10.; Samenschale: Kapsel, eiförmig, einhöhlig, mit fünf Zähnen an der Mündung, die sich zurückbiegen, Abb. 9.; Samen: zahlreich, flach, rau und von aschbrauner Farbe, Abb. 11. 12.

CALYX a Perianthium of one leaf, tubular, quinquedentate, having ten angles, or ridges, and of a deep purple colour. [fig. 1]
COROLLA : five petals, the claw the length of the Calyx, fig. 2. the limb divided into four laciniæ, the exterior ſhorteft and narroweſt, fig. 4. at the bottom of the limb are placed two ſmall upright laminas, fig. 3.
STAMINA : ten Filaments, tapering, five long and five ſhort, fig. 5. the ſhorter filaments affixed to the claw of each petal, fig. 6. the Antheræ oblong, bilocular, fig. 7. laying acroſs the filaments, and of a purpliſh hue.
PISTILLUM: the Germen ſomewhat oval, fig. 8. five
STYLES tapering and bending a little inward, fig. 10. Stigmata ſimple. fig. 10.
SEED-VESSEL: a Capsule, oval, of one cavity, the mouth having five teeth which turn back. fig. 9.
