Summary
[edit]DescriptionMaastricht, Oude Minderbroederskerk, schilderijen Nicolaaskerk 01.jpg |
English: Still life paintings by Louis and François Hermans in the choir of the former Minorite Church (Oude Minderbroederskerk) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The paintings are part of a series of 8 that were commisioned by the parish of Saint Nicholas. They were completed by the Maastricht brothers between 1786 and 1792 and hung in the clerestory of the former parish church. After the church was demolished in 1838, the paintings were bought by the city and ended up here in the 1880s. |
