Description
English: Painting of the Assumption of Saint Servatius, surrounded by angels (ca. 1837), by Theodore Schaepkens. This painting is now in the Sint-Servaaskapel or Dagkapel (Day Chapel) in the west wing of the cloisters of the Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, Netherlands. The Day Chapel was formerly used as a refter and was largely reconstructed by Cuypers in the late 19th century. It was then used as the church treasury for about a century. It now serves as a Day Chapel where daily mass is read.
