Madame Du Coudray à sillonné la France et formé 5.000 sages-femmes avec l'autorisation de Louis xv. Cette pièce est visible en permanence au Musée de l'Homme, à Paris. Cette machine de Madame Du Coudray, est un fac-similé réalisé par Rebecca Campeau pour l'exposition naissances en 2004-2005 au musée de l'homme a Paris et pour l'exposition Naissances : Gestes et rituels. Rebecca Campeau a réalisé cette Machine grandeur nature, ainsi qu'un bébé de 50 centimètres et un fœtus de 7 mois. Toutes ces sculptures sont réalisées en toile de lin, cuir, bois, fils, carton, rubans. Cette machine a été réalisée avec la complicité du Muséum d'histoire naturelle et de Madame Arlette Dubois, conservatrice du musée Gustave Flaubert et de la médecine à Rouen en 2003. |
