[edit]DescriptionMalargüe station construction (20495405689).webm |
English: One of the world’s most sophisticated satellite tracking stations was built by ESA near Malargüe, Argentina, 1200 km west of Buenos Aires. The massive, 35 m-diameter antenna has been in operation since 2012, capturing precious scientific data from missions voyaging hundreds of millions of kilometres into our Solar System.
This time-lapse animation was mashed up from thousands of webcam images taken during the almost-two-years of construction. Credit: ESA - CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO More details via www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2012/12/Malarguee_statio... |
