| Description | Malvern Priory (St. Mary & St. Michael), 22 June 2015. Originally built as a Benedictine Monastery in 1085 in Norman style, rebuilt in Perpendicular style in 1440-1502 and restored by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1860 The Priory itself was dissolved in 1539 but the people of Malvern bought the church to act as their parish church to replace their old one which had fallen into disrepair. Pictured is the ceiling of the choir, a 19th Century Victorian copy by Sir George Gilbert Scott of the 15th Century original. |
