Description
English: Where Can We Find the World’s Oldest (vertical) Floating Log? Why, right here in Crater Lake! The Crater Lake Institute carries an Historic 1938 era NPS photo postcard of The Old Man: an NPS 1938 Photo View, (perched atop is Alden H. Miller-later professor at UC Berkeley and Director of the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, son of Loye H. Miller, first Naturalist at CRLA in 1926. Loye was well known as a scientist at La Brea Tar Pits, Los Angeles, Calif and a professor of Zoology and Paleontology at UCLA
