Summary
[edit]DescriptionMangalitsa (Paleo) Festival - Budapest, 2013 (32).JPG |
Magyar: (Hungarian: mangalica, UK: mangalitza). Live on the 8th of February, 2013. Budapest, Szabadság tér. Mangalitsa Festival – Exibition and Fair. The best licenced small-scale producers and product vendors bring their excellent goods which you can taste fresh made on the spot accompanied by high-class wine. On the stage light music and folk music programs change each other. The blonde Mangalitsa was developed from older hardy types of Hungarian pig (Bakonyi and Szalontai) crossed with the Hungarian Wild Boar breed of Hungarian origin and later others like Alföldi and the so called “turkish pig”, mangalitza from Serbia. Mangalitzas will happily rear their young (who are born striped like wild boars) in outside arks all year round without the need for additional heat and light. Mangalitsa is a more and more raw popular food of paleo life. The average diet among modern hunter-gatherer societies is estimated to consist of 64–68% of animal calories and 32–36% of plant calories with animal calories further divided between fished and hunted animals in varying proportions (most typically, with hunted animal food comprising 26–35% of the overall diet). High percentage of animal flesh is one of the key features of the paleolithic diet. Mangalitza is an animal with wild ancestors, bred bred in natural circumstances, on natural raw food on the hungarian puszta.
