Tras la audiencia sobre la situación de los derechos humanos en el Bajo Aguán que tuvo lugar en la CIDH el 5 de abril de 2016, se realizó una vigilia en las puertas de la OEA por Berta Cáceres, asesinada el 3 de marzo de 2016 en Honduras. Comisionados y Comisionadas de la CIDH salieron a la puerta de la OEA a escuchar las palabras de su hija, Berta Zúñiga Cáceres.
Deutsch: "Vom 13. Bis zum 15. April fand in der honduranischen Hauptstadt Tegucigalpa das internationale Treffen "Berta Cáceres lebt" statt. Bei der Zusammenkunft, an der circa 1.500 Personen aus 22 Ländern teinahmen, ging es um die Entwicklung von Strategien sozialer Bewegungen nach dem international beachteten Mord an der Menschenrechts- und Umweltaktivistin Berta Cáceres. Sie bezahlte ihren Kampf gegen den Staudamm Agua Zarca auf indigenem Territorium am Gualcarque-Fluss mit ihrem Leben. Das Siemens-Joint Venture Voith Hydro soll die Turbinen liefern." (Zitat) [1]
