Description |
English: This map was included in the book Beschryving van Japan (Description of Japan) by Engelbert Kaempfer. He went to Japan as the trading post doctor and took part in the journey to the Shogun’s court in 1890. For many years, his book was to be the standard work on Japan. The map is divided into ‘hans’ or domains ruled by the daimyos, the feudal lords. |
