Summary

[edit]
Description
April 1268).
English: Floor plan of the Parish Church of Marchegg in Lower Austria which shows the axis bend. Black (bold) is the ground plan of the present church. The wall outlines of the demolished parts of the building (shortening of the nave, demolition of both side chapels) are drawn in white. P is the portal point of the parish church (position determined by georadar prospection). X is the bend point (triumphal portal) and also the boundary point between the nave and the choir. This is also the protection point of the city gates (intersection of the connecting straight lines of the city gates). The orientation of the nave was after the sunrise on Maundy Thursday on 5 April 1268, the second orientation is that of the choir (Easter Sunday, 8 April 1268), and the third orientation is shown in the northern side chapel on the Assumption of Mary 1268 (15 August). The flight of the north wall of the choir points to Good Friday (6 April 1268).
