| Description |
English: The Massaquoi-Passage, a short passage near the Barmbek railroad station in Hamburg-Barmbek-Nord, Germany. It is named after Hans-Jürgen Massaquoi, an African-German (and American) journalist and long-time editor at Ebony magazine who grew up in Barmbek in the 1930s and, late in his life, wrote a book about his childhood in Nazi Germany.
Deutsch: Die Massaquoi-Passage zwischen der Drosselstraße und dem Bahnhof Barmbek in Hamburg-Barmbek-Nord. Sie ist benannt nach Hans-Jürgen Massaquoi, einem deutsch-afrikanischen (später amerikanischen) Journalisten und langjährigen Redakteur des Magazins Ebony, der in den 30er Jahren in Barmbek aufwuchs, und in Deutschland vor allem bekannt wurde, nachdem er in späten Jahren ein Buch über seine Kindheit im Dritten Reich schrieb. Die Passage verläuft zwischen dem 2016 errichteten Bürogebäude zur rechten, in dem jetzt die Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft ihren Sitz hat, und einer Baustelle zur linken, wo ein Gebäude mit Einzelhandel, Gastronomie sowie Büroflächen gebaut werden soll. |
