Summary
[edit]DescriptionMatrix auto repair in former fire station in Cedar Mill, Oregon (2019).jpg | Matrix Integrated Automotive Repair, in Cedar Mill, Oregon, from the west in 2019. The building was originally Cedar Mill fire station of Washington County Fire District No. 1, and its hose-drying tower survives from its former use. Built in the early 1950s, the fire station closed in 1984, replaced by a new station located on what was then Barnes Road. During its period of use as a fire station, the main doors for the fire engines were on the building's north side, on the left in this view, and the west wall that is most prominent in this view, had no doors for vehicles. The grade of Cornell Road has been raised slightly at this location since then. This site, on NW Cornell Road at 129th Avenue, is in unincorporated Washington County. (Washington County Fire District No. 1 later merged with other fire districts to become part of the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue district, in 1989.) |
