Description
Portrait headws were worn suspended from waist belts by members of the ruling lineage to legitimise their right to rule. This head was found at Copan, although the text names a lord from Palenque. The mother Yax-Pac, the last king of Copan was from Palenque, she may have brought the head to Copan.
