English: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899-1902 with one bar Medal awarded to 5868 H Tyley, Welsh Regiment. 5 bars (Belfast - Diamond Hill - Johannesburg - Paardeberg - Relief of Kimberley) silver medal; one bar; plain straight swivelling suspender; with ribbon obverse- crowned and veiled head of Queen Victoria and legend VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX reverse- Britannia with a flag in her left hand and holding out a laurel wreath in her right towards an advancing party of soldiers; in the background are two warships; below the wreath, in two lines- 1899-1900 in relief; around top- SOUTH AFRICA bar- Belfast - Diamond Hill - Johannesburg - Paardeberg - Relief of Kimberley ribbon- red with two dark blue stripes and a broad orange central stripe named on edge- 5177 PTE H. DAMSELL SOMERSET LT. INF.
