English: South Vietnam Government Medal (Cien-Dich-Soi-Tinh) Medal (part of set) awarded to 76055 S-Ldr Douglas Ian Paterson DFC, RNZAF, Vietnam War six-pointed star with rays between the points in gold coloured metal, 32 mm wide, with ribbon obverse- arms of the star are coloured with white enamel. In the center of the star is an 18 mm green coloured circular medal bearing the outline Vietnam with a three tongued red flame between North and South Vietnam reverse- circle bearing the inscription Chiến Dịch VIET-NAM Bội Tinh, medal inscribed verso- 76055 D.I.PATERSON Ribbon- 32mm wide grosgrain ribbon, 7 bands of green (4) and white (3)
