English: China War Medal 1900 (10th June - 31st December 1900) Awarded to Stoker W Watson, HMS Dido, Royal Navy silver medal; plain straight swivelling suspender; with replacement ribbon obverse- the crowned and veiled head of Queen Victoria and legend- VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX reverse- a collection of war trophies, with an oval shield with the Royal Arms in the centre, all under a palm tree; legend above- ARMIS EXPOSCERE PACEM; in the exergue- CHINA 1900 ribbon- crimson with yellow edges named on edge- W.WATSON. STO. H.M.S. DIDO markings- obverse- medallist's name under VR's shoulder- G.W. de Saulles designer- obverse- GW de Saulles reverse- William Wyon
