Notes Fur Kultur souvenir iron cross, WW1 During the early months of the war a series of similar 'iron crosses' were produced for fundraising and propaganda purposes. The design parodied the German iron cross decoration, and in this example satirised Germany's claims to being a nation of culture. This example is a smaller size than other examples in the collection.
