Medieval Ampulla
Description
English: An incomplete cast lead-alloy flask shaped ampulla. The lower part of the ampulla has a rounded base, which tapers to a midway point, then flares outwards. The ampulla has sustained some plough damage and both the integral loops at the midway point and the open upper edge are missing. One worn face of the ampulla is decorated with a crosshatched heart with a crown above it. The other face is very worn but possibly has a flower comprising of four large pointed leaves with four leaves in the interstices. The surviving length is 45.4mm, the width is 31.2mm and the weight is 28.81g.
