Title |
Medieval Buckle |
||
Description |
English: Copper alloy buckle. Rectangular buckle frame with a split knop at each outer corner, a prominent trapezoid lip with central gutter as pin rest, and with knops at either end of a round section strap bar - the rest of the frame being of rectangular section. A sheet metal pin of different copper alloy is wrapped around the strap bar. This is probably a replacement as it does not reach the pin rest. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400.
