Medieval Signet Seal Ring
Description
English: A complete cast copper-alloy Late Medieval to early Post medieval signet finger ring. The slightly bent hoop is D-shaped in section and has thickened shoulders. The flat oval bezel depicts a horse or stag facing left with a tree behind. The length of the ring is 19.4mm, the length of the bezel is 19.2mm and the width of the bezel is 15.0mm. The surviving external diameter of the hoop is 21.6mm, the width of the hoop is 2.9mm and the weight is 5.40g.
