Title
Medieval annular brooch
Description
English: Fragmentary copper-alloy annular brooch, originally probably circular in shape. The fragment is semi-circular in cross-section with a flat underside and beaded internal and external borders; the ring circumference is interrupted by two domed circular knops decorated with parallel ribbed bands; midway between the knops is a sub-rectangular setting with sloping sides which retains a greenish-white paste (presumably to hold a glass stud - now missing). The fragment represents approximately just over a quarter of the original ring.
