Title
Medieval buckle: Single loop buckle
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy single looped buckle dating to the Medieval period. The frame would originally have been 'D-shaped' but the recessed axis bar is now missing. The buckle has a lozenge-sectioned frame that gradually expands towards the centre of the outer side, where there is a grooved pin rest. There are two swellings at he junction of the buckle and the now-missing strap bar. These buckles date from c. AD 1300-1450.
