Title
Medieval coin: penny of Henry III
Description
English: A damaged silver medieval penny of Henry III (AD 1216-1272) dating to the period c. 1258-1265. Probably class Vb. The coin is bent through ninety degrees, the folded edge shows some breaks and chipping. It is probable the bend represents post-depositional damage rather than deliberate folding as it is uneven and off-centre. Uncertain mint and moneyer. (North, 1994(1): no. 991/3).
