Medieval copper alloy buckle plate
Description
English: Medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle plate with rouletted decoration on one face. One iron rivet remains in one corner with a hole at the opposing corner where a rivet has been. One face is polished and decorated with rouletting in a St Andrews cross shape with further rouletting on the outer edges of the longer sides. The other face is rough and unpolished and has clearly been attached to a leather or fabric strap. Length 39; width 19; thickness 1mm.
