Medieval double loop oval buckle.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy double loop oval buckle with angled frame, and narrowed and slightly recessed strap bar. The pin is missing. Slightly twisted and much of the original surface missing - possibly heat affected. Length 23.32, width 17.92mm, thickness of frame 2.70mm, weight 1.91g. An identical buckle is published in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800' (1996, Greenlight) p54 no.310.
