Title
Medieval single loop buckle
Description
English:

A complete cast copper-alloy single-looped buckle frame and pin of medieval date. The artefact is an irregular D-shape. The strap bar is narrowed and off-set, the pin survives. Its terminals are expanded but divided from the sides by grooves on the upper surface. The buckle frame expands towards the pin rest which is decorated by three incised recesses, the central recess would have acted as the pin rest. The lower surface of the artefact is flat and plain. The object has a dark brown patina but is covered in many places in a lighter corrosion product.

The buckles is 22.5mm in length, 26.15mm wide, 5.45mm thick and weighs 7.2 grams.
