English: Medieval spur buckle, oval frame with integral oval plate with engraved oblique cross-hatching, pierced by perforation containing corroded remains of iron pin and rivet-hole in centre containing copper alloy rivet with remains of circular rove and scrap of leather on reverse, tapering broken integral projection, terminal missing. Cf. Whitehead (2003), 195-8. 13th-14th century. |
