English: Incomplete Medieval gilt spur buckle, worn and corroded, broken oval frame, outside edge missing, integral plate with remains of flat-sectioned pin in perforation, two rivet-holes flank constriction at mid-point of plate with small opposed lobes, possibly broken slightly oblique terminal (missing possible hook). >31 x >13mm. Cf. broadly similar types in Dress Accessories (1991) fig.48, nos.320-1. Late 13th-14th century. |
