Description
English: A copper alloy Medieval composite strap end, dating from about AD 1250-1450. The strap end is trapezoidal in shape with a lozenge shaped knop at the closed end and a zig zag bi-concave shape at the attachment end. It consists of two pieces of sheet copper alloy forming the front and back plates, with a forked spacer between the two plates. Neither plate is decorated. There are two copper alloy rivets, one in the middle of each end. Traces of the fabric strap survive within the strap end. The metal has a smooth dark green patina.
