English: A copper alloy double loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops with flat backs and beveled inner edges. The centre bar is narrowed from the frame and D-sectioned. The pin is missing. Finds from London indicate broad date range with examples published including Egan G and Pritchard F, 1993, Dress Accessories p 82-6, cf no.331 and 349 and Egan, G, 2005 Material culture in an age of transition, p35, cf. no. 93. Date: Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval, c. 1350 - 1600 |
