Title
Medieval to post-Medieval double-oval buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-oval buckle of probable Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date.

Each side of the frame is roughly D-shaped and there is a central axis bar with a protruding knop at each end. The upper surface of the frame is convex and the width expands towards the central pin rests. The pin, made from a flattened and tapering length of copper-alloy wire, is looped around the axis bar. The surfaces have a white-metal coating and are corroded.

The buckle measures 42.8mm long, 25.7mm wide and 7.1mm thick. The weight is 6.99g.
