Title
Medieval to post-Medieval lace tag
Description
English: A copper-alloy lace tag of probable Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date.

The artefact has been cast is one piece. It consists of a hollow cone with a globular terminal at the point. Immediately below the wavy top edge are four circular rivet holes. In contrast to the straight upper portion of the tag, the lower third is slightly angled from the vertical; this may be an original feature, or it could be the result of post-depositional damage. An unidentified black coating covers much of the outer surface. The object measures 81.2mm long, up to 9.3mm wide (at the top) and weighs 8.88g.
