Pre-incubation of macrophages with non-specific inhibitors of phagocytosis, such as dextran sulfate (100 μg/ml), inhibited the entrance of Cy5-labeled hMSC-derived extracellular vesicles inside the macrophage, which accumulated on the macrophage surface where they formed a cap. |
