Nederlands: Metalen sculptuur op de rotonde Zaltbommelseweg / Oude Litherweg / Hertogensingel /Vierhoeksingel in Oss. Een roest-kleurige metalen driehoek en spiraal. Het kunstwerk heet officieel "Old Father, old Artifex" en werd gemaakt in 1990 door Huib Fens. De kunstenaar werd geïnspireerd door een boek van James Joyce en wel door een zinnetje op de laatste bladzij. Deze zinsnede verwijst naar de hoofdpersoon daedalus, de uitvionder van het labyrinth. Toen het kunstwerk eenmaal klaar was, leek het alsof het zowel een krinkel als een hoek bevatte. Dat paste bij de naam Krinkelhoek, de wijk waar het beeld staat opgesteld op eennondergrond van keizelstenen, midden op de rotonde. De keuze voor het beeld is gemaakt door een werkgroep van inwoners van de wijk en Piet Hagenaars, directeur van museum Jan Cunen. Dit naar aanleiding van het 40-jarig bestaan van de wijk. |
