Description

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Acting Deputy Secretary Michael Young tours the tornado damaged USDA National Finance Center (NFC) located on the grounds of the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, in New Orleans, LA, on Monday Feb 13, 2017. The NFC, suffered severe damage by an EF3 tornado, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. Approximately 1,300 employees were displaced, however, there are no reports of fatalities or major injuries. As of Feb. 9, 2017, there are 182 employees at an offsite Alternate Worksite Facility in Bossier City, LA, supporting critical processes, 250 miles away. The National Finance Center (NFC) is a Shared Service Provider for Financial Management Services and Human Resources Management Services.
