Ex SHAMAL STORM 16 was the deployment of the OF4 Vanguard Enabling Group, led by 17 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps. The VE Group delivered a scalable, robust and task-orientated group capable of mounting, deploying, enabling, sustaining and recovering a composite mix of specialised Combat and Combat Support capabilities in order to provide the Army contribution to ‘Joint’ Theatre Entry (JTE) as part of the Vanguard fielded force. It saw the deployment of over 1700 personnel across a wide variety of Units in a large scale Combined Arms exercise.
