Description
This print represents a new type of vehicle, inspired by the British cabs. The main novelty is that the coachman, instead of being at the front of the carriage, sits at the back. The article accompanying the print praises this innovation, in part because it restores a hierarchy, the coachman being behind the travelers. At the time of the publication of that print, though, the model of the British cab was quite rare in the streets of Paris.
