Summary[edit]

Description
English: Boots, a helmet, rifle and dog tags serve as a representation of the memory of Lance Cpl. Aaron W. Simons, who was killed April 24, 2006, while serving in western Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Marines from Simons' unit, Company C of the Twentynine Palms, Calif.-based 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, held a memorial service at their base in Karabilah, Iraq, the day after his death. Simons, a two-time Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, was a 20-year-old from Modesto, Calif.
