Description
Español: La obra representa el Motín de Esquilache, ocurrido en Madrid en 1766 durante el reinado de Carlos III de España. El episodio histórico corresponde a una revuelta popular en Madrid en 1766: siguiendo lo ordenado en el bando de las capas y los sombreros, unos sastres arreglan esas prendas para que no sean capas largas y sombreros chambergos, sino capas cortas y sombreros de tres picos. Un afectado parece resistirse, y es contenido por un clérigo (los jesuitas fueron acusados de haber instigado el motín). Un alguacil preside la escena con gesto autoritario.
