На нем изображена мечеть Сиди Абдер-Рахман [Абдул Рахман, Абдель Рахман, Абдуррахман] в городе Алжир (Алжир) около 1899 года. Согласно "Практическому путеводителю по столице Алжира, Алжиру и Тунису", написанному Куком в 1904 году, "за исключением Джама-эль-Кебир ... это старейшее религиозное здание в городе Алжир... Selon le Guide pratique de Cook à Alger, en Algérie et en Tunisie (1904), "A l'exception de Djama el Kebir ... qui est le plus ancien édifice religieux à Alger .... Le marabout [saint populaire] Abd er Rahman Thalebi et est né en 1387 et décédé en 1471. La mosquée a été construite entre ces dates et contient sa tombe, sur celle-ci sont accrochées des bannières de soie, des oeufs d'autruche, etc, et sur laquelle il y a toujours des cierges. " Auguste Renoir a peint en 1882 une scène très similaire à celle de la mosquée d'Abder-Rahman.

It depicts the Sidi Abder-Rahman [Abdul Rahman, Abdel Rahman, Abdurrahman] Mosque in Algiers, Algeria, circa 1899. According to Cook’s Practical Guide to Algiers, Algeria, and Tunisia (1904), “With the exception of the Djama el Kebir…this is the oldest religious building in Algiers…. The marabout [popular saint] Abd er Rahman et Thalebi was born in 1387 and died in 1471. The mosque was built between these dates and contains his tomb, over which are hung silk banners, ostrich eggs, etc., and on which lights are kept burning.” Auguste Renoir painted a very similar scene of the Abder-Rahman mosque in 1882.
