  1. La friction sur un point d'une surface dépend de la forme de la couche limite au-dessus de ce point. Sutton et Biblarz parlent donc de « couches limites » pour évoquer la friction pariétale que créent ces couches limites (la friction ne peut se concevoir sans couche limite et vice-versa).
