Coche MZA BWFFV 8 - RENFE BB-2597 - Año 1878 - 20,440 t. - 16,250 m. - 58 asientos/places - Harlan & Hollingsworth Co. (EEUU).

Español: La singularidad y valor de este coche Harlan es que fue uno de los vehículos que por primera vez se introdujeron en Europa procedentes de los Estados Unidos, como delata su aspecto, muy similar a los trenes del far west.

La pequeña compañía de Barcelona-Villanueva-Valls, fundada por Francesc Gumá, los adquirió en 1880 para cubrir el recorrido entre la capital catalana y Vilanova i la Geltrú. Sus innovadoras características técnicas fueron un hito en la Europa de su época, utilizaron por primera vez en el viejo continente los bogies o carretones sostenedores de las ruedas de los coches, lo cual suspuso un avance en el confort prestado a los viajeros. Otra mejora fue la incorporación del freno Westinghouse, predecesor de los actuales sistemas modernos de frenado. Estas innovaciones hacían de ellos unos vehículos únicos y muy evolucionados.

Este vehículo, desde el año 2008 está siendo rehabilitado por la Asociación Socios y Colaboradores del Museo y se encuentra aún en proceso de restauración.

English: The uniqueness and value of this wagon is that Harlan was one of the first vehicles were introduced to Europe from the United States, as revealed by its appearance, very similar to far west trains.

The small company Barcelona-Vilanova-Valls, founded by Francesc Gumá, were bought them in 1880 to cover the route between Barcelona and Vilanova i la Geltrú. Its innovative technical features became a milestone in the Europe of this time. They used for first time, in the Old World, the boogies which represented an improvement in the passengers' comfort. Another upgrade was the Westinghouse's brake, a predecessor of the brake systems at present. These innovations made them a unique and highly evolved vehicle.

This vehicle, since 2008 is being rehabilitated by Partners and Collaborators Association by Museum and is still under restoration.
