Français : En mai 1945, ce drapeau nazi a été trouvé par le sapeur Harry Mosley , dans une mairie de la région de Wismar en Allemagne Les occupants de l'édifice s'étaient suicidés juste avant l'arrivée des soldats alliés ; leurs cigarettes se consumaient encore dans les cendriers.
Les troupes de la 6th Division aéroportée avaient reçu l'ordre de prendre Wismar sur la côte balte afin d'empêcher les forces soviétiques d'entrer au Danemark. Dirigée à moto par le général Hill de la 3e Brigade, cette mission fut remplie avec succès le 2 mai 1945. Par la suite, le général Hill fût nommé gouverneur militaire de Copenhague jusqu'à l'installation d'une administration civile. En 2009, le drapeau a été offert au musée par la veuve de Harry Mosley.
