Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Historic steam locomotive 3642 on the turntable at Gosford, NSW Australia - October 25 2014.

The Heritage Express Excursion returned to Sydney Central Terminal after "The Pig" (3642) was turned on the 60 year old Gosford turntable.

The 160+ tonne engine & tender had to be re-positioned on the turntable as it was not well balanced. Finally the loco was run around through the station before being re-coupled and heading south.

Only three 36 Class locomotive remain today, with 3642 being the only one in operational condition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_South_Wales_C36_class_locomotive

3642 is affectionately known as 'The Pig' and was built by Clyde Engineering for New South Wales Government Railways in 1926. It remained in service for 43 years! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3642

Video was shot on iPhone 5s through the high security fence of the Gosford Railyards - really the only lens that could fit through the gaps!
