Hey Nebraska! How’s the good life? Oh, by the way…Happy 150th! In 1867, you became the 37th state in the Union! The birthplace of Kool-Aid, Arbor Day, the world’s largest train yard, and the T.V. Dinner, Nebraska has definitely left its mark on the nation. We may be biased, after all, the Midwest Regional Office of the National Park Service is based in Omaha, but we think Nebraska’s national parks and historic trails provide a glimpse into the past of not only the Midwest, but America as a whole. These national treasures provide visitors with vast landscapes where ancient creatures roamed, where early pioneers crossed the “Great American Desert” (we prefer high plains), and where diverse wildlife abounds. Nebraska may be triple landlocked…yeah, that’s a thing… (One must travel through three U.S. states, or two U.S. states and one Canadian province to reach an ocean, gulf, or bay) but we know you’ll be drawn to the amazing parks in the American heartland! (Just not by boat)
