Summary[edit]

Description
Deutsch: Die Donau zwängt sich zwischen Weltenburg und Kelheim durch aufragende Kalkfelsen. Es bietet sich ein beindruckendes Naturschauspiel. Es ist gleichzeitig ein Lebensraum für viele seltene Tiere und Pflanzen. In den Kalkfelsen finden sich kleine Höhlen. Das Gebiet gehört zu den Geotopen im Landkreis Kelheim. Es ist als Naturschutzgebiet ausgewiesen und auch als Landschaftsschutzgebiet. Seit 2020 gehört es zu den Nationalen Naturdenkmälern. Es stellt das erste dieser Art in Bayern dar.
