Description
Deutsch: Die Landschaftspfleger vom Säulingssee.

Das Gebiet hat den Schutzstatus als FFH-Gebiet 5025-302 und ist zugleich seit 1984 als Naturschutzgebiet mit dem CDDA-Code 165337 ausgewiesen.

Die extensive Beweidung mit den genügsamen und friedvollen Wasserbüffeln soll die vielfältigen Biotope des Feuchtgebietes wiederherstellen und dauerhaft erhalten. Durch die Abweidung der Hochstaudenfluren und den Verbiss der Gehölze werden die Verbuschung der Aue und die Verschattung und Verlandungsprozesse der Gewässer aufgehalten. Zu Gute kommt die Offenhaltung den seltenen Pflanzengesellschaften, dem Lebensraum der Amphibien und den zahlreichen Vogelarten als besserer Brut- und Nahrungsort.
