English: Netsuke; ryusa netsuke a rounded disk shape with carved lace-like designs that reveal a hollow interior; carved from ivory; depicts a man kneeling next to a seated tiger; a large moon disc is behind the man; the man is wearing loose robes, has a large hoop earring, and is holding a large walking stick and a cylindrical object which he is pointing away from himself and the tiger; the base of the anabori netsuke is wave or smoke like designs that have small gaps between them exposing the hollowed centre; the reverse of the netsuke has lily pad style leaf and a long slender leaf; details of netsuke are inked; the reverse has two larger holes designed for a silk cord to pass through
